About Karen Detwiler

Karen is a seasoned real estate pro. After earning her license in 2000, she went on to earn the New Sales Associate of the Year Award in 2001. Not surprisingly, she was able to start her own team just six years later, and the rest is history.

Throughout much of her adult life, Karen moved. Her husband’s job compelled the family to relocate frequently, and as they were moving, Karen took note. She became interested in the intricacies of buying and selling, and that interest turned into a passion, which Karen decided to take to her career.

Throughout her over 24-year tenure as a REALTOR® and Associate Broker, she’s learned a lot. But, according to Karen, no lesson is more important than abiding by the golden rule. She’s been in her buyers' and sellers' shoes, and she understands better than most how important it is to treat her clients the way she wants to be treated.

As a result, her compassion for buyers and sellers clearly sets her apart. Karen’s been there more times than she can count, and she remembers the emotions and stress of making significant life changes, including home buying and selling decisions.

Karen lives for the joy that comes from a buyer getting an accepted offer on a home, or a seller earning more than they expected from the sale of their home. Moments like these make Karen’s work worth it, and she relishes every minute!

Her real estate acumen is punctuated by her love of the Central Pennslyvania area and desire for her buyers to feel welcome here.  Working with sellers is another passion as she knows first hand the ups and downs involved with the logistics of selling and moving. She values the opportunity to connect with her clients personally, whether she’s sharing tips and tricks or simply offering useful home-buying information. She always wants to stay front and center to meet her clients’ real estate needs.

Karen assists buyers and sellers of residential real estate in Cumberland and the surrounding counties. She’s active in the Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS® and has been named in the top producers of the company for many years.

When she’s not helping buyers and sellers, Karen enjoys power walking, gardening, entertaining and spending time with family and friends.
